You will need: A Gaucho Gordo calabash, its lid, a bombilla, hot water and Muy Mate organic mate tea.

Preparing mate traditionally is not easy for everyone, nor is it possible in terms of time. Although it is a ritual to be enjoyed, sometimes you just need a quicker solution and still want the mate experience. In these situations, the “Gaucho Gordo” calabash is optimal.

Our Gaucho Gordo is a calabash with lid in which there is an opening for the bombilla. This is especially useful for people who travel a lot. So you avoid spillage while drinking on the go.

The preparation in the Gaucho Gordo is very simple: first you pour in the Mate. The rule is: as much as you like! With 2 tablespoons you get a rather mild tea, 3 tablespoons give a stronger taste and from 4 tablespoons it is then very strong and also more bitter.

You have to consider that the Gaucho Gordo is much larger than traditional calabashes and therefore fits much more liquid. In addition, you drink the tea more slowly and it thus pulls on and on. Thus, the last sip is usually the most bitter.

After you have entered your desired amount of tea, pour water at a temperature of 60-75 degrees (depending on your sensitivity to heat), put in the bombilla, close the lid and you’re done. Your mate tea to-go is ready! No frills here, just a practical way to carry your mate with you at all times.
